Why Buy Your Unusual Beers, Ciders, & Wines From The Cork & Hop?
Yes, we visit all the producers and taste everything to make sure its not just another microbrewery but its actually a decent drink. We like to stock a good range catering for all paletes – from stout to IPA, English wine to porters and old ales to NIPA’s. We’re not just fixated on hoppy or hazy, but more about the quality and artisan-style production that make these drinks so incredible!
We’re genuinely interested in what we drink and want to provide the same continously emerging range of English wine, beer and cider that we find interesting. To discover these smaller producers takes a great deal of research (and tasting) and so you should find lots of useful information across the site about the drinks themselves, the producers, location, ingredients, awards and so much more to give you a great idea before buying.
You wander into a beer/cider or wine shop only to be met with walls and walls of drinks, which only a sommelier or beer expert could decipher. In truth many people have no idea which is good and which is bad, except from the odd brand you recognise. We feel this doesn’t allow for an informed choice. So all our bottles have a wide range of key information to help you make that informed choice and try lots of new and different beer, English wine and cider.
Often, many shops and supermarkets sell the same old brands available everywhere. Sometimes this is due to the price they can be bought at, other times it may be because they are popular. Either way, we focus on providing a selection – not driven by the trade price we can get them for, but far more focused on discovering interesting and unusual beer, wine and cider that is hard to get your hands one. We also ensure it is priced reasonably to provide access to all.
